Sports Science is a discipline that studies how the healthy human body works during exercise, and how sport and physical activity promote health from cellular to whole body perspectives. Physical activity is an essential part of a being healthy. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans (PAG) recommends that adults get at least 2½ hours of moderately to vigorously intense physical activity each week. Sports can give a big boost to the amount of physical activity in your life. Academic sports and physical training: The participation in organized sports offers the chance for youth people to enhance their physical and social skills. Physical training in young people High-quality Physical education can encourage young people to develop knowledge, understanding and skills across a range of physical education, sport and health-enhancing experiences. Physical training in women and children Women of all ages can benefit from physical strength training. Studies have shown that even women who are 90 years old and use a walker can benefit from light strength training and also beneficial for children.

Physical training in youth and elderly people older adults, both male and female, can benefit from regular physical activity. Physical activity need not be strenuous to achieve health benefits. A moderate amount of activity can be obtained in longer sessions of moderately intense activities.
Orthopaedic Sports Medicine is a subspecialty of orthopaedic medicine and sports medicine. Orthopaedic sports medicine is the investigation, preservation, and restoration by medical, surgical, and rehabilitative means to all structures of the musculoskeletal system affected by athletic activity. Sports injuries are injuries that happen when playing sports or exercising and some are from of accidents. Others can result from poor training practices or improper gear. The most common sports injuries are Sprains, strains, Foot, Ankle, Hip and Knee, Shoulder & Neck injuries.

Physical therapy or physiotherapy aims at providing relief to patients suffering from bone and joint ailments by promoting mobility. Interventions used in physiotherapy involve both physical and mechanical modalities in combination with physical exercises. By carefully following scientifically proven techniques in a systematic order, the physiotherapist improves the mobility of the organs in living with physical ailments like polio, paralysis, pre and post Orthopedic surgeries and fractures. Physiotherapy as a science is also deals with research, education, consultation and administration.

Occupational therapy (OT) is the use of assessment and intervention to develop, recover, or maintain the meaningful activities, or occupations, of individuals, groups, or communities. It is an allied health profession performed by occupational therapists. OTs often work with people with mental health problems, disabilities, injuries, or impairments
Kinesiology is the science of human movement, applying the latest evidenced-based research to improve function, health and wellness of people in all settings and populations. Exercise science and kinesiology are two closely related fields of study, often used interchangeably with one another. These sciences are concerned with the human body and aspects of its movements. Exercise science focuses on the effects physical activity has on the human body. Common areas of study in kinesiology might include biomechanics, exercise physiology and motor control. Kinesiology majors use tools from molecular biology, neuroscience, engineering, medicine, and computer science to work on unique problems in a diverse array of settings. Kinesiologists are committed to enhancing quality of life through the promotion of physical activity and workplace health and safety, the prevention and management of injury, chronic disease and disability, and the overall improvement of health and performance.

Functioning of the body during exercise The body response to the exercise in such a way that there's the red face and the sweating, the pounding heart and pumping lungs, the boost to your alertness and mood, the previously non-existent urges to talk about nothing but splits and laps and PBs, Muscle Stretching Workshops. Role of hormones in muscular growth and fitness hormones play a vital role for the development of the body size shape and strength. GH, or the growth hormone is well helping to maintain an optimal ratio of lean muscle tissue to body fat. It’s VERY important to have good GH levels in order to live healthy, both mentally and of course, physically. Exercise physiology is the study of the acute responses and chronic adaptations to a wide range of physical exercise conditions. Kinetics during rest and exercise In addition, many exercise physiologists study the effect of exercise on pathology, kinetics during rest and exercise, and the mechanisms by which exercise can reduce or reverse disease progression.
Nutrition is the science that interprets the interaction of nutrients and other substances in food in relation to maintenance, growth, reproduction, health and disease of an organism. It includes food intake, absorption, assimilation, biosynthesis, catabolism and excretion. The diet of an organism is what it eats, which is largely determined by the availability and palatability of foods. For humans, a healthy diet includes preparation of food and storage methods that preserve nutrients from oxidation, heat or leaching, and that reduce risk of foodborne illness.
In humans, an unhealthy diet can cause deficiency-related diseases such as blindness, anemia, scurvy, preterm birth, stillbirth and cretinism or nutrient excess health-threatening conditions such as obesity and metabolic syndrome; and such common chronic systemic diseases as cardiovascular disease diabetes and osteoporosis. Under nutrition can lead to the wasting of kwashiorkor in acute cases, and the stunting of marasmus in chronic cases of malnutrition.

Sports injuries are injuries that occur when engaging in sports or exercise. Sports injuries can occur due to overtraining, lack of conditioning, and improper form or technique. Failing to warm up increases the risk of sports injuries. Bruises, strains, sprains, tears, and broken bones can result from sports injuries. Soft tissues like muscles, ligaments, tendons, fascia, and bursae may be affected. Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is another potential type of sports injury.
Many sports injuries cause immediate pain or discomfort. Others, such as overuse injuries and tendonitis, make themselves known only after long-term damage. These injuries are often diagnosed during routine physical examinations or checkups.
Call a doctor if there are signs of swelling or if it hurts to place weight on the affected area. If the problem is in the location of a previous injury, seek attention right away. Child’s immature skeleton has weaker bones than an adult’s, you should take extra care with a child’s sports injuries. What looks like a tissue injury may in fact be a more serious fracture, according to research published in the International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy

The FDI World Dental Federation defines this subdivision of dentistry as "the branch of sports medicine dealing with prevention and treatment of dental injuries and oral diseases associated with sports and exercise." Injuries are, unfortunately, commonplace in sports. Sprained ankles, torn ligaments, concussions and broken bones are some of the most common and also the ones that first come to mind of athletes and fans. But an injury that affects an athlete's oral health can be just as serious. Anywhere from 13 to 39% of dental injuries result from playing sports. Approximately 80% of all dental injuries affect one, if not more, of the front teeth. Tongue and cheek injuries are common too. Small chips and cracks in teeth can be repaired. Even a knocked out tooth can be salvaged by seeking immediate dental assistance. Two of the best means of protection against oral injuries are through the use of helmets and mouth guards.
Acupuncture is a form of alternative medicine in which thin needles are inserted into the body through peripheral skin, subcutaneous tissue and muscles at particular acupuncture points and negotiate them. The objective of acupuncture is to direct and assign the flow of the Chi, so that the Yin and the Yang return to a state of dynamic equilibrium. Acupuncture desires to diagnose symptoms by curing the disease. The acupuncturist must know the function of each acupuncture point and its interaction with other acupuncture points. He can then plan the treatment to exclude interference in the flow of Chi and to balance the Yin and Yang. After the acupuncturist has inspected the patient and attained a diagnosis, he decides how the patient should be treated.
